1773 December 16 A protest by the American colonists against Great Britain, regarding British decisions on taxing the colonies despite a lack of representation in the Westminster Parliament in Graet Britain. They destroyed many crates of tea bricks on ships in Boston Harbor.
2001 May 15 Acting Massachusetts Governor Jane Swift (America's youngest governer at 36) gave birth by C-section to healthy twin girls, hospital officials at Brigham and Women's Hospital said. Lauren Alma Hunt was born at 9:11 p.m., weighing 6 pounds and measuring 17 1/2 inches. Her sister, Sarah Jane Hunt, was born at 9:12 p.m., weighing 5 pounds 4 ounces and measuring 17 1/2 inches.
2003 January 17 (Big Dig, a 3.5 mile or 5.6km tunnel under Boston) the opening ceremony was held for the I-90 Connector Tunnel, extending the Massachusetts Turnpike (Interstate 90) east into the Ted Williams Tunnel, and onwards to Logan Airport.
